(ID)ENTITY exhibition at DEPO2015 cultural center in Pilsen, CZ, consists of artworks selected by the curators in a democratic open call announced in both countries, specifically at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem and at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Arts of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. The installation is the work of Denisa Strmisková and Dagmar Štěpánová of Prague-based Formafatal studio, who conceived it as a long white wall in the middle of the original industrial space creating a neutral background for selected artworks. While on the front side of the wall there is a long line of the artworks hanging on the wall or lying at the tables, the back side is covered with the super-mirrored stainless steel sheets reflecting the industrial environment. White semi-transparent fabric referring to the character of Jerusalem streets hangs above the wall. Series of hanging sloping fluorescent lights which look like levitating in the air illuminate the artworks and symbolically frame the space.

When creating the installation, we based our work on the bright streets of the town, the lightness of fabrics above our heads, clothes hanging. We were inspired by water in the Dead Sea, its reflections, the heat from the sun. In light design, it is precisely this feeling of sunshine that we want to use, and the whole line of the wall should go through the space, much like a ray of light. The clean design of the installation should underline the character of the exhibited works by authors from both Jerusalem and Pilsen.
